What is a Spiritual Director?

• A spiritual guide and companion
• A vessel for the Holy Spirit to work through and point out where God is working the lives of the Directees
• A co-discerner who listens
• A force that helps draw you closer to Jesus Christ
• An arrow that points toward Heaven

What a Spiritual Director is NOT:

• A therapist. Psychotherapy meets needs that are different from Spiritual Direction.
• Someone that just tells you what you want to hear

Ways that Spiritual Direction can be helpful:

• In discernment and decision-making
• When grief and loss affects one’s spirituality
• When you want to grow deeper in your relationship with the Most Holy Trinity
• When seeking healing of spiritual woundedness and desiring a return to spiritual wholeness
• When there is dryness in prayer, personal devotions and spiritual life due to the demands of family life and work life
• Assisting couples of different denominations to develop a shared spiritual life

Why is there a cost of Spiritual Direction?

• It helps the Directee in making an investment in their spiritual life
• Encourages the Directee to honor and value the time the Director has prepared for them and dedicated to them
• There are costs a Spiritual Director takes on in order to become certified and to continue ongoing training and learning
• Many Spiritual Directors are not church staff employees and therefore are not receiving a salary

What are Ann’s credentials and experience?

• Certificate of Professional Spiritual Direction from Mayslake Ministries in the Diocese of Joliet, Illinois
• Completion of the Called and Gifted Program through the St. Catherine of Sienna Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado
• Certificate of Discernment of Charisms Training from Many Parts Ministries in Tulsa, Oklahoma
• 30 years of experience working with families as a nurse and in various ministries (SEARCH for Christian Maturity, Christ Life, Engaged Couples counseling, Be Formed, Discipleship group leader)

What is the cost for a 1 hour Spiritual Direction session?

• The cost per one hour of Spiritual Direction is $60
